Braidburgh Family Connections

This page is concerned with the Braidburgh family of which little is known at present. My ggreat grandmother, Hannah, was the first Braidburgh discovered. We have not yet found any relations for her yet other than those listed below.

Hannah Braidburgh is recorded on an extract from the Register of Marriages dated 1 January 1875 for her son's marriage in Cupar. The register shows David as the son of Alexander Ogilvie and Jessie Ogilvie nee McDonald. David married Hannah Smalley on 1 January 1875 at St Andrews and St Leonard's, Fife, Scotland. She was his second wife. Witnesses were Thomas Mellis and Ann Spence. David's address at the time of marriage was Isles's Lane, Hawkhill, Dundee and Hannah's was 33 North Castle Street, St Andrews. Hannah's parents, George Smaley, a silk weaver, and Hannah Smaley nee Braidburgh were both dead at this time.

David and Hannah had two children:

Sarah Ann Elizabeth, born 31 December 1877

David, born about 1881

Since Sarah's death in 1916, all contact has been lost with this part of our family.
